hester van hasselt
Hester van Hasselt (NL, 1971) performs and writes for theatre. She studied
theatre in Maastricht and Brussels and literature at the University of
Utrecht. Hester began as a performer in theatre works by
contemporary writers, but she soon gravitated towards dance; she has been a
member of Jerome Bel’s company since 2001 and has performed in all of Nicole
Beutler’s works since 2003. She is currently working on a research project
juxtaposing language and movement on stage.
Hester was a member of the selection committee for Dutch Dance Days 2007.
