LISA

Residency AHK

Three of the LISA-artists - Nicole, Ivana and Paz - have been invited by the Lectoraat Art Practise and Artistic Development to be artists in residency at the Amsterdam School of the Arts in 2008. Rather than a series of workshops they proposed to meet both students and teachers, in order to go into discussion and exchange on burning issues from their momentary practice. The first block consisted of three working weeks in February.

Nicole collaborated with dramaturge Igor Dobricic from her current fascination of “the baroque”. Together with the participants they researched and discussed for one week issues such as emotionality, theatricality and theatre as interactive event, as well as mechanisms that produce overflow onstage.

Ivana’s guest for the second week was philosopher Bojana Kunst. Together with the students they researched different possibilities of being together, as a reflection on the complex issue of collaboration, the formation of plural subjects and the relationship between movement and the group.

Paz concluded the residency in collaboration with visual artist Manuela Zechner. They seized the opportunity to do the first lab of their joint project Vocabulaboratories. They discussed notions such as ‘entry’ and ‘practice’, which turned out to be very fruitful material for their dictionary.
